gloomy day

Last week we went to the store and made sure our flashlight had batteries, our water jugs were full and our window sealed up.  We were preparing for Sandy to hit our shores and wanted to be safe.  Even as we were doing that I couldn't help but think of the bigger storms around us and the preparation we need to make each day to be ready for the barrage the adversary sends at us.
Just like we could not in a day or two start from scratch and prepare ourselves and our homes for a hurricane we can not from scratch fill our spiritual propane tanks, seal up our spiritual homes and prepare ourselves to stand strong and faithfully on the Lord's side.

This morning dawned gray and drizzly, matching the mood in our home and in many others across the nation.  We have reelected a man to be our president who consistently legislates sin, who turns his back on our allies and who marches our  country closer and closer to socialism and financial ruin.

All I can do is take care of my family, try to make good decisions, serve, pray and look forward  with faith to the day when the Savior comes again.

I am profoundly disappointed and sad.
We will continue to hope for the best. President Obama will be in my prayers the next four years.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” So spoke the wise Solomon, the son of David, king of Israel.
Jacob, the brother of Nephi, declared, “Look unto God with firmness of mind, and pray unto him with exceeding faith.”
