a little Disney magic

When we moved to California dad so nicely bought us season passes to Disney.  We said, and we meant it, that we would come every month.  We want to show our appreciation to him for being so generous, even if it means a huge sacrifice such as missing school on a half day Monday in order to not miss a month.

Today was such a half day.  And the weather was perfect.  76 degrees by mid afternoon. The crowds were a little heavier than we expected but not too bad.

We really wanted to see all the Christmas decor. We also decided to ride on rides we had previously not been on.   So we walked slowly up main street taking it all in.  The window displays were delightful.  Really one of the nicest parts of the season pass is coming back time after time and noticing all the things we hadn't yet seen.  Disney is a master at the art of attention to detail with a delightful surprise, hidden detail and magical touch around every corner.

trying on ears is a fav
Our first ride was the Matterhorn.  Grace was nervous until she went once and then wanted to go again.  We rode the Nemo sub, the cars and found two areas we had previously not noticed, the marvel headquarters and a little hidden princess corner that we need to go back and explore better.

We also ate at a previously unvisited spot.  It was Mexican and looked very festive.  I had street tacos, which I love and which didn't disappoint.

Our plan was to leave the park and have wheels rolling by 3pm to a) beat traffic b) let Grace get to dance on time and c) be ready for FHE and other evening activities.

We were 6 minutes past our goal, which was awesome but Grace missed dance :(  LA traffic is no fun.

Before family night we went over to the Lucerne's.  Rob was assigned to visit them and see what the high priests could do to help them out so we did that earlier in the weekend.  One things Sister Lucerne wanted was to have her weeds killed so we went back tonight to spray them with weed killer.
Then we came home and watched the wonderful First Presidency Christmas Devotional.  I loved the beautiful carols, Sister Burton's wonderful and uplifting talk and of course Elder Bednar and Pres. Uchtdorf.   It was a wonderful feast.

  1. Trying so hard not to be jealous! You'll need to stay one night during Christmas to see it snow on Main Street. :) It is so magical.
