weekend

Friday night the young women had a sleep over at Sister Alvey's.  Hannah went and had a very fun time.  She requested that all the girls leave their cell phones home, Hannah did.  I really think that added to the fun because the girls were able to be fully present.  I love tech and I hate it.  It's a conundrum.

Saturday we got up early to take Percy to the vet.  It was declaw and neuter day.  I felt really bad leaving him there, he's small and cute and a good little kitten...it had to be done but it was tough.
Then we went to Lowes and got some seeds for our annual attempt at a garden.

Hannah came home and she had a school friend over, they have a project due that they worked on.

While they were doing that and Ethan was helping Rob and I took Grace on a hike.  We wanted to go to Little Rock Dam, it was closed though so we went back to the punchbowl.  Grace was NOT happy to go.  She complained the whole way there, had to be pulled down and dragged up.  It was pretty not fun.  Ziva did enjoy it.
devils punchbowl
Saturday night we had a fun youth activity.  It was tri stake so there were a lot of teens there.  All the stake leaders from the 3 stakes were there to chaperon, help, etc.  It was pretty fun.  First we heard talks by the 3 stake presidents.  They were really good.  Then they had a pizza dinner, teens like pizza.  Then a talent show, which was really fun too.  There were a good variety of acts and I think everyone enjoyed them.  Finally there was a dance, which was loud.  I wish Ethan was already 14 so he could have gone.
sleep over
This morning we picked up Percy.  So pathetic.  He feels awful and I feel just awful for him.  Poor baby kitty pants.
poor Perseus!!
Rob and the girls have choir practice this morning.
After church I have a trek meeting, actually two.  First AP/YW and then youth committee.  It feels like we have more meetings here than in MD, but the driving is less so I guess it balances out.
It's also fast Sunday so I spent the morning getting everything ready so we can sit down to dinner about the same second we walk in the house and eat together before I have to leave.
Rice in the rice cooker (brilliant)
Korean beef in the crock pot (yumm!)
angel food cake baked and inverted on the stove top
berry topping sliced and sauced in the fridge chilling
salad ready
table set

It's a good plan.  We'll see how well it executes.
