counting down

Ethan and his first pair of sunglasses
Today was a getting ready day.  We started in the basement and worked our way up floor by floor making sure the house was ready to show next week, after the holiday weekend, and while we are gone on our cruise.
The kids complained.  It was a lot of fun.

When we were done with the house we got ourselves ready.  We had a few things to take care of before we could go.  #1 pedicures.  Obviously.  One can not go cruising with scrappy toes. We also went looking for white shorts for Ethan.  We found them in the teen department of JCP.  What?? When did he switch departments?? He also talked me into sperry's and sun glasses.  Not sure when he started to care but here we are.

We went to chick-fila for dinner.  The summerstock cast was having their advertising night.  They are performing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat.  They sang some songs in ChickFila and they were amazing!  It was fun to see so many theater friends.  I wish Hannah had been able to try out.  Our summers are always too crazy though.  We will go see the performance before we move.
getting our toes ready to cruise
We went to Target last and stocked up on sunscreen.  You can never have too much sunscreen.

Then we dropped Ziva off at puppy camp.  My friend from beautiful historic St Mary's City has two boys who run a dog business.  It's a great idea.  They have dogs for about 5 months of the year they say, they enjoy them so much but don't have to have a full time pet and they actually make money.

It was sad to see friends in theater, and friends from work, and to drive by the fairgrounds and see the new sign freshly put up for this years fall fair:(  So many things we love here make it hard to leave, and hard to not complain.
