Ethan's worst day ever

We planned a last trip to DC for today. I thought it was really really fun.  At the end of the day Ethan told me it was his worst day ever.

"First", he said, "you got me up at 6am to clean the house.  We had to clean for 2 hours! and the house was already clean before we started.
Then I had to drive for an hour to get on the metro and go to a museum". (his favorite!)
"After the museum", to add insult to injury, "we got on the metro again and went to Georgetown where we had to walk and look at shops just to get a stupid cupcake.  We looked at more shops and found a "hidden gem" of another museum.   All my least favorite things".   That boy!
His highlight was seeing the Count who "taught him to count to 11 when he was only 3, although the Count only has 8 fingers so I don't know how that happened".
Hannah and Julia
Our trip was the brain child of Hannah, who really wanted to see Julia Child's kitchen.  We had a great time there, in spark, looking at the first ladies gowns and other fun displays.  An unexpected treat was that the Air Force Strolling Strings gave a performance.  We had front row seats and they were awesome!

DC cupcake was a fun treat and worth the walk . Georgetown is delightful.  It was darling with awesome shops and lots of restaurants that I'd love to try out.  We all picked cupcake flavors and everyone was happy with them.  They even had a gluten free one for Janene!

BFF's for 6 years.  Cute girls.
The Stone House, a cute little museum preserved right in the middle of town.  The garden and the house were so fun.  We played colonial games and enjoyed the grounds and the beautiful flowers.

We stopped at Trader Joe's (mostly because we had to go to the bathroom) and had fun looking at the flowers and foods.

The weather was perfect, the kids were great, the company was awesome, and the city as charming as could be. It was a great "good-bye tour" day.
