4th of July

Happy Independence Day!!! Like a lot of people I know our nations birthday is one of my favorite holidays. I love our history and what our country stands for: freedom, liberty, opportunity. As a nation we've had some growing pains and some dark times, but we've also had a lot more good. Our people are innovators, explorers, God fearing and hard working. I hope these qualities continue to prosper and to be the foundation of our national identity.
We had another long drive. It went pretty well. Everyone was tired of the car and the novelty had really warn off. We would not be good global circumnavigators. Finally we made it to sweaty Fort Lauderdale:) It is hot but I wouldn't mind living here. We picked up Sierra at the airport and arrived at our hotel just moments before the rest of the gang.
Our hotel is quite nice. Ethan likes when Uncle Brian is the hotel picker, he said tonight that his favorite hotel ever was the one UB picked in Orlando. It was "exquisite".
Everyone got settled and then we headed out to get some dinner. At dinner our server gave us some inside info on where to watch the fireworks. He sent us to the top of nearby bridge and we could see fireworks all around us. It was pretty cool.
Tomorrow we embark! We're excited!!
