We planned a little long weekend getaway for while the kids are in Ohio. It was honestly kind of hard to choose where to go and we somehow settled on Monterey, up the coast.
Day 1 was awesome. We got out on time and drove to Hearst Castle where we took the grand tour.
This place is extravagant, opulent, and beautiful in its excess. My favorite part was the indoor pool, unbelievable!
After that we took pch up and just stopped wherever we felt like it.
Of course seeing the sunbathing sea lions was a must! They might be my spirit animal. Laying in the sun in a big happy herd!
Then we spotted some great wood and went out to harvest it for my husband the artist.
We made a couple of other stops then made it to our hotel where we scored an upgrade!! Lucky and exciting!!
Tonight we're walking to fisherman's wharf to find some dinner. I have a feeling it's going to be a very nice weekend:)
