Sunday

After church we came home and got ready for Grandma Joyce to come visit and have dinner. We had such a nice visit with her.
After dinner grandpa took all the kiddies to the park and we visited a little more.
Besides church and visiting we did a lot of cooking and eating.
For breakfast we had banana pancakes with syrup and yogurt.
For lunch we had carrot soup and rolls.
For dinner we had pioneer woman lasagna, green beans, strawberry and spinach salad, watergate salad,

And for dessert spice cake with Apple Carmel and blueberry pie a la mode.

This boy! So darling!!

Saturday

Day one, so fun!
We played lots of games.
After Hannah and Grace had cats practice we went to Menchies grand opening for free fro*yo!
Then we went to the world's hottest pumpkin patch.

After our sweaty afternoon we came home and cooled off in the pool.

They are here!!!

Marshall likes Grace! We are so excited these sweet ones are here for a visit and we've been counting down the days!
Tate called me on their drive and said she forgot her bathing suit. I went to Target and big surprise they didn't have any. Snowsuits yes, swimsuits no. It is mid October but today it was 93* so you'd think maybe they'd have some. Then I thought to look for a children's consignment shop and there is one a few miles away. I went and hit the jack pot! Two new bathing suits, a super cute October dress for Penny, an astronaut suit for Moe and a Chinese silky outfit for Tatum all for under $30!

Our house isn't very big but we found places for everyone to sleep! Tatum and Hannah get the library.
Hannah and Sawyer (and Calista and Christian- they always double) went out for sushi then to the book store.
So in a shocking turn of events we found out yesterday that we are getting money for the move that we didn't know about. It's not a ton but I am so thrilled! It has been nothing but a slow hemorrhage and surprise expense and extra cost ever since we lost our first buyers and began the moving nightmare. I am so ecstatic and grateful to have good news!

Over the hump

I used to work here, literally and exactly. This is the MD dove.
Now I work here: it's a new adventure every day. Today it's 6th grade SDC.
But the Lord is in charge and has a plan for our lives.
Good news: 2 more days until these little chickens drive into town!!
In preparation Hannah and Sawyer and Lu built a cardboard igloo! It turned out great!

Fallish

I am subbing in first grade today. It's the end of the day and we are in the computer lab. What a piece of cake way to finish our day. No song and dance, no running around the room, just happy kids with headphones on their ears playing learning games.
It was a very good day. The kids were great, the plans were interesting and appropriate and easy to follow. A sigh of relief after last week's nightmare class.
Mom's surgery went well. Of course recovery is tough but I am confident it will be worth it in the end. Poor mom.
Our new conference challenge is to ponderize the scriptures. We are to pick a verse and 80% ponder/20% memorize for a week, thus writing the verse on our hearts and making the scripture a life long friend. Rob picked one right away. I have been searching the choices and have yet to choose. This is silly. I need to just pick and move on:)

weekend

We had a soccer game, we won.  The girls had auditions for solos in Cats.  The weather was cool and it was conference!  We love conference weekend! It's the best one(s) of the year.  This one was particularly exciting  because 3 new apostles were called.  It was very sweet to hear their testimonies and to see how smoothly the Lord runs His church.  The 3 new apostles are Ronald A Rasband, Gary E Stevenson and Dale G Renlund.
playing the longest game of killer bunnies ever
This week we have been playing killer bunnies.  It took four nights but we finally finished.  Rob had most of the carrots but Ethan had the winning one.
breakfast
Hannah did lots of cooking today.  She made the most delicious quiche that I have ever eaten this morning.
new slippers
I made Grace some slippers, per her request.  It took me one session per foot.
chef
For dinner she made turkey and funeral potatoes and pumpkin pie.  I made the jello and the green bean casserole.
grateful for conference dinner
We took a couple of walks, talked to family, and enjoyed the cooler weather.

Tomorrow morning mom is having her first hip replaced.  I hope everything goes well.

Also good news! Michael and JaNee are having another baby!!!

A date, a dance and some donuts

I got to sub for seminary this morning. We had such a fun time. It was game day. So easy breezy! Hannah and I left early, no small sacrifice, so that we could bring treats. We brought Krispie Kreme donuts that were a hit.

Val sent me this cute picture of her and Penny watching Kenz dance tonight at the football game.
Hannah went out with Sawyer. They are cute:)
Rob and I also went out tonight. We saw "the intern", which I liked and ate at the yard house, which was dark and loud.

Rob went to physical therapy.

Obviously our Disney plans fell through and we didn't get to go. I had forgotten about soccer practice and physical therapy so it didn't work out. Soon though!
Playing at seminary teacher!
