End of the day

Each night we gather in the living room and read a chapter. Tonight it was Alma 21. We talk about it then kneel and pray. Sometimes there is a lot of talking and laughing before the praying. Tonight there was. That's always a good way to end the day.
Then Grace had more homework. She has so much and it drives me crazy. I have a strong dislike of her teacher and can't wait for the year to be over.
Earlier this evening we had the Girl Scouts over to earn the social butterfly badge. It was an easy one and we had lots of fun.

I started training for my new job. It was interesting and I think I'll like it. It was a long day though.

signs of spring

This Monday brought with it some signs of spring, finally.

One, the spring soccer kick off "meeting" at the local pizza joint. We had a room and the boys had a long table and everyone had pizza.  It should be a fun season.  Of course the winter season isn't over, and they overlap, so is it really a new season?

Two, this afternoon the weather was nice.  It was awesome.  As we drove out of the neighborhood this afternoon there were tons of people out.  People walking their dogs, kids on the playscape, boys on the green kicking a ball, teens on bikes and skateboards.  It was like everyone collectively threw open their windows, heaved a huge sigh and ran out into the sunshine!

This morning Dixie and I went visiting teaching.  We have a new sister.  I hadn't met her before but we had a fun visit and I hope we'll be good friends.

Weekend

Last night we had a soccer game, then we went to the McCombs to pick up Grace who was playing with Maggie. Katie got home from her mission so it was so fun to see her and hear of her adventures.
This morning we had a cookie booth. We sold lots of cookies.

Hannah and Rob painted her room and it looks so good. Ethan helped a little. He had a challenging day since we declared it electronics free. He did go out and play basketball, and read some books, and helped me run some errands, and looked at the walls:)

Snow fun

Snowed in means watching lots of Korra Nation...or whatever it's called. Lots of wet laundry, cold puppy walks, sitting wrapped up in blankets and wishing for spring. It means telling the children to turn off the electronics and find something to do, then hearing them complain that there isn't anything and silently agreeing. There's always chores to do:( or some baking to add to the winter stores :( . It's a bit of a prolonged winter doldrums season in our big snow-trapped house.

Solution: snowy drive to deliver Girl Scout cookies.
Doing some cleaning.
Reading a good book :)

Home!!

We made it home! To my surprise and delight Johnna was on the same flight so we sat together and drove home together.

It is cold here! Brrrr!

At the airport

We are at the airport early early. Rob flies out two hours before me so I am waiting with him then waiting myself. He'll have to wait at the other end. It's snowing here and there so I hope we won't have delays. Diana had a nightmare trip coming home from Denver. It took days:(
Tuesday mornings at the airport in SLC are fun because all the new missionaries are flying out. They are so excited and are so cute! I hope I have some on my flight:)

I'm anxious to get home to my sickies. Poor Abba had been holding down the fort.
